So It made it to the app store.

Originally I submitted the app as a 'free' game. But recieved the following reply not 24 hours later:

"Thank you for submitting Green Block Game to the App Store. We've reviewed Green Block Game and determined that we cannot post your application because it appears to contain features that bear a resemblance to a well-known third-party trademark, Tetris."

So after doing some whinging on the iphone dev sdk forums, I learnt that making it a paid app seems to move the resposibility of the legal mumbo jumbo to the developer, which I did. Meaning my app is now officially on the store. Potentially setting a precedence for other developers looking to make a quick buck to outdo my game, Pentix, iPentris and some of the other tetris inspired games. I dont really mind as the whole project was little more than a learning experience to see what it was like, not to mention a CV update, (I want to work overseas, so mobile software development is something I've decided to get involved in).

I mean you don't have to be a genius to look at the popularity of the 25 year old game Tetris and derive that sometimes taking an existing idea and improving it is better than starting from the ground up.
